Dr. Richard Hodges, OBE, is President Emeritus of the American University of Rome and Professor of Archaeology at the University of East Anglia, UK.\u00a0 A board member of the Packard Humanities Institute (2004-present), he was formerly the Williams Director of the Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, USA, Director of the British School at Rome (1988-95), Director of the Prince of Wales\u2019s Institute of Architecture (1996-98) and Scientific Director of the Butrint Foundation (1994-12).<\/p>\n

He has worked in Italian archaeology since 1978, participating in the Biferno valley survey (1978-79), the San Vincenzo project (1980-98) and the Montarrenti project (1982-87). He is the author of many books, including Dark Age Economics, Mohammed, Charlemagne and the Origins of Europe, The Anglo-Saxon Achievement, Wall to Wall History, Towns and Trade in the Age of Charlemagne, Goodbye to the Vikings and (with Riccardo Francovich) Villa to Village, all published by Bloomsbury Academic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

From California, Tracy Roberts is Italian by adoption and co-founded LoveItaly with Luigi Capello in 2016.\u00a0 After graduating in Linguistics from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), Tracy went to live in Rome, Italy where she started English Yellow Pages (1984 to 2011), a directory of English-speaking professionals, businesses and services in Italy. In 1988, she co-founded Interazione, a public relations firm. Her primary role in the company focused on development and management of clients\u2019 relations with the international press as well as government and institutional relations.<\/p>\n

From 2002-2006, Tracy was the Executive Director of The Rome Chamber Music Festival and participated in the creation of what is considered one of Rome\u2019s most important annual musical events. Marco Grassi, a mechanical engineering graduate, is an investor in smart-community platforms and start-ups with 25 years of experience in Information Communication Technology companies such as Telefonica, IBM and Atradius Credit where he served in management positions in Italy and abroad.\u00a0 He has managed multiple international projects and company turnarounds for equity funds and family trusts.<\/p>\n

He is currently leading co-research projects on Big Data and Business Intelligence with research centers such as the European Institute of Technology in Trento (UNITN) and the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering of the Sapienza University in Rome. He is an activist in several initiatives to bring innovative technologies to Cultural Heritage and social environment projects. Gloria Arditi is an architect who received her PhD in Technology of Architecture from the University Ludovico Quaroni, La Sapienza. She worked on the New York restoration project for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and studied at Columbia University where she wrote a thesis on the Restoration of the Edifices of the Modern Movement. Gloria has curated, edited and written about architecture, art, and design for Disegno Industriale\/Industrial Design, DIID, and IL PROGETTO and published a book on Gio Ponti: Venti Cristalli di Architettura.<\/p>\n

In 2006 she was appointed Vice President of the Palatina- Istanbul Association, UNESCO Agency, writing a proposal for the restoration of Villa Tarabya (a masterpiece of Italian art deco architecture) for the Italian Foreign Ministry.\u00a0 With Studio Gentiloni Silveri, she participated in the restoration of various historical buildings in Rome and fundraised to finance restoration work in the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Francesco Sforza Cesarini manages a real estate company and a family office in Rome. Previously president for Lazio of the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane, a private association that helps private owners to preserve historical buildings and the heritage they represent.\u00a0 He is passionate about civic involvement and founded the Associazione Rione Ponte e Dintorni which actively participates in debates and projects with the local authorities to improve the quality of life of Rome\u2019s historical centre.<\/p>\n

He went to high school in the UK and to college in the US at the Jesuit University in San Francisco where he graduated with a BBA in 1988 and an MBA in 1989. He worked in finance from 1990 to 2011 in Switzerland, Portugal, France, the UK and Italy. In Milan he worked at Caboto Sim, in Rome for BNL and JP Morgan. Lorenza Mochi Onori began her career in 1978, following her studies with Prof. Giulio Carlo Argan, as an art historical inspector for the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, in Le Marche, in Macerata and subsequently in the Superintendence of Pesaro-Urbino and Ancona.<\/p>\n

She was appointed Director of the National Gallery of Ancient Art in Palazzo Barberini (1982-2003), Acting Superintendent of the Superintendence for the Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage of Le Marche (2003-2004) where she added to the collections of the National Gallery of Le Marche with the purchase of works of great importance for the regional culture. She also acted as interim Superintendent for the Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage of Bologna, Ferrara, Forl\u00ec, Cesena, Ravenna and Rimini from 2007 to 2008.<\/p>\n

She has worked with the University of Rome “La Sapienza” – Institute of Art History, the University of Palermo – Department of History of Architecture,\u00a0 the University of Rome 3 – Institute of Art History and the Scuola Normale di Pisa.\u00a0 She is a member of the Raffaello Academy of Urbino, the Marchigiana Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pesaro.<\/p>\n

She has held the position of Superintendent for the Special Superintendence for the Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage and the Polo Museale of Naples since 2009.<\/p>\n

After graduation from the Central Institute of Restoration in Rome (1966) and advanced courses working on the Cappella della Maddalena, Assisi (1967-68), Giantomassi then worked at Tecni.Re.Co, (1979-80) a cooperative he was President of; Donataella Zari later joined the company. Giantomassi taught restoration and conservation at the Course for Cultural Heritage Maintenance Workers in Spoleto (1970-1980), consulted and presented interventions at the School of Conservation and Restoration in Botticino and held seminars on restoration at the School for Crafts and Restoration in Rome and the UNESCO headquarters in Venice. He has taught Restoration of Mural Paintings (ICCROM) and stone restoration (ICR), and painting technique (various Italian universities, and Yale University at ICCROM). He held conferences in Cartagena, Colombia on behalf of the IIC and the Catholic University of Bogota.<\/p>\n

He was awarded the tile of Official Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2002 by the President of the Republic Ciampi; an Honorary Degree in Letters and Philosophy by the University of Fribourg (CH) in 2015; the Zanotti Bianco prize by Italia Nostra for the restoration of Pinturicchio’s frescoes in Spello (1974); and the National Award of Excellence Profeti in Patria (2004).<\/p>\n

Giantomassi continues to work in restoration in Italy and abroad; including as part of the Commission for the restoration of Luca Giordano’s Cason del Buen Retiro<\/em> in the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Rossella Pace currently works at the Centro per il libro e la lettura del Ministero della Cultura of the Ministry of Culture, coordinating initiatives, projects and awards dedicated to schools in collaboration with the MIM (Ministry of Education) and MAECI.<\/p>\n

Previously she was an archaeologist at the Directorate General of Museums of MiC, in charge of projects in collaboration with the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the National Roman Museum.<\/p>\n

Having graduated in classical archaeology with a thesis on a Pompeian theme, she was part of the MIUR young researchers program at the University of Calabria;\u00a0 a scholarship holder at the Benedetto Croce Institute of Historical Studies in Naples – for ancient history; winner of the International Prize Colonie Magna Grecia.<\/p>\n

Later she worked as a researcher in classical archaeology at CNRS-ENS in Paris and was appointed director of the Eolide archaeological mission in Turkey for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has taught classical archaeology and archaeological research methodology at the University of Calabria and History of Ancient Art at the University of Tours.<\/p>\n
